5–8 mm Marble Chips

5-8 mm marble chips create a bolder terrazzo look, with fewer but larger visible stones. They are also a common decorative grade for planters and small landscape areas where fine chips would look insubstantial.

What this size looks like

Distinct individual stones with clearly visible veining on the polished face. The pattern is noticeably more graphic than 3-6 mm.

Suitable applications

  • Feature terrazzo floors
  • Exposed-aggregate panels
  • Planter topping
  • Decorative concrete

Packaging

Supplied in woven bags for smaller quantities and in jumbo bags or loose bulk for larger orders. Pick the packing your site can offload — jumbo bags need mechanical handling.

Bulk orders

For multi-tonne requirements, share the colour, quantity, packing preference, delivery city and timeframe. The bulk supply page lists everything needed for a firm quotation.

Size tolerance

Marble chips are screened, not machined. A 5–8 mm batch will contain some pieces slightly above or below the nominal band — this is normal for crushed stone. Where a tight grading matters, say so at the enquiry stage so the requirement can be discussed before dispatch. We do not publish engineering tolerances we cannot verify for a given batch.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is 5-8 mm different from 6-8 mm?
They overlap heavily. 5-8 mm includes a slightly finer fraction, so it fills more evenly; 6-8 mm is more uniform in stone size.
Can 5-8 mm be used for garden beds?
Yes for small decorative areas and planters, though 10-20 mm holds position better in open beds.
Is a size tolerance guaranteed?
Crushed stone is graded, not machined. Some material slightly above or below the nominal range is normal in any batch.
