Marble Chips Sizes
Marble chips are supplied in graded size bands. The grade decides how a surface looks and how it behaves: fine grades work inside mixes, medium grades give the classic terrazzo pattern, and coarse grades are used loose in beds, paths and driveways. Availability may vary by colour and quantity.
Fine grades
Under 3 mm. Used as filler in mixes, in thin epoxy and resin systems, and in textured plasters.
Medium grades
3 mm to 8 mm. The terrazzo and mosaic working range, also used in planters and decorative panels.
Coarse grades
8 mm and above. Loose decorative use — beds, paths, driveways and large ground cover.

- How are marble chip sizes measured?
- By screening. A size band describes the sieve range the material passed through, so a batch will always contain some pieces slightly outside the nominal range.
- Which size is most commonly ordered?
- 3-6 mm for terrazzo and mosaic work, and 8-10 mm for decorative landscaping.
- Can I order a custom size?
- Tell us what you need and we will confirm whether it can be produced or screened for your quantity.
- Are all colours available in all sizes?
- No. Some colours are produced in a narrower range of grades. Each colour page lists the bands usually available.
